Being a Floridian… I love me a good bikini.
Growing up, bikinis were not immodest or revealing… or maybe they were… but they were so second nature to us heat dwellers, we didn’t even notice. Whether I was in great shape or not so much, I’d always end up with some type of bikini or tankini for the summer. And by summer I mean… every single day we went swimming somewhere.
Until I became a mom.
And then… well, I felt silly in a bikini. Even though I’ve given birth 5 times and have had so many exams that all modesty should be gone the fact is… it isn’t. When I’m running around chasing little ones, I simply feel better and more appropriate in a more modest suit. It may have some slight midriff showing, but it’s still modest yet feminine. Pretty yet not revealing.
And it isn’t because so and so said that revealing swimsuits are wrong or immoral, it’s because my internal compass of appropriateness has changed. Am I saying I’ll never wear a bikini again? No, I’m not. What I AM saying is that right now I’m more comfortable bending over, chasing babies, and running after a runaway toddler on the beach in a more modest suit. Seeing as how there are more bulges, marks, and fades that in previous years… I’m okay with not being a Beach Siren.
Really, I am. I think you will be too. Here are some super cute and modest swimsuits that hide the bulges and still leave you feeling feminine.
Lapaya Swimsuits
Here are some beautiful swimsuits by the brand Lapaya. They are feminine, tasteful, and come in a multitude of sizes. Some even have skirts, which I think are super cute, and have covered cleavage. We all know that not every one piece is modest, but the majority of these truly are. Amazon has a wide variety of Lapaya swimsuits that will run the gamut from super modest to sort of moderately modest. ;)
Cocoship Swimsuits
These Cocoship Swimsuits are super vintage and cute. I personally am a big fan of blue and white and these have a nautical look as well as a classic one. Some of them have ruching in the midriff area which we know, as moms, can hide a multitude of sins! Also I’ve found halter tops to be particularly convenient when you’re nursing because they keep things hidden and allow for easy access.
Adfolf Swimsuits
Here is another brand you may not have heard of, I know I didn’t! It’s called Adfolf Swimsuits. These are incredibly reasonably priced and I absolutely love the teal one below. It is feminine and curved, but not showy and there is a lot of extra material in the right places. You literally cannot go wrong here!
